Lookout, my numero uno personal fave Grass Widow have a new album coming out this fall on Kill Rock Stars, it was recorded at the same studio that did their beautiful S/T release on Make A Mess Records (as well as Purple Rhinestone Eagle who'll be playing here Aug 11th!). They have just leaked a single from the new record, you can download it for free here! DO IT!!

Those friendly Canadians, Women, have finally announced the release of their second album Public Strain. It was recorded by the amazing Chad VanGaalen, and is coming out on Canadian Label Flemish Eye as well as Bloomington, Indiana's Jagjaguwar on September 28th. Cannot wait. The record's closing track, Eyesore, is up on their myspace and it does not disappoint. It is available for free download here. Pray with me that they will come to Carby.

This show was totally bitchin' for real! Parlor and Shithawk both brought the rock and The Goodnight Loving kicked out some sweet new jams. It was probably the best Carbondale show of the summer so far, but the line-up leading up to Handsomefest is looking pretty killer too!

Goodnight Loving

Hot on the heels of that awesome Staring Problem/Spokesmen/Prizzy show at Tres last Monday, there is a killer show at Tres Hombres this Tuesday. Goodnight Loving is making their first return in a little over a year, and those bad boys in Parlor and Shithawk will be joining them.
