Skihaus Tmrrw

Blah blah blah we keep talking about it.. but this show is gonna be rad. Apache Dropout will be in town from Bloomington, IN, on the first day of 47 day tour, so come out and show them a good time! They just released their debut full-length this Tuesday on LP via Family Vineyard, and also on 8-track tape!! You can download the whole A-side for free here. The record has been getting a lot of attention on the interwebz, you can stream some songs on Tiny Mixtapes, read an interview from Pitchfork, and you should definitely check out this raving review on Still Single.



Nighty Night and Parlor are also playing, and they've both been busy lately as well. Parlor is about to release their S/T tape on vinyl (more on that soon), and they're heading out on a West Coast tour in May with Autonomy. Nighty Night just finished recording a batch of new songs which may see a vinyl release this summer, and are in the midst of planning a few tours in the near future as well. Could you ask for a better show?! This is gonna rule.

Wild Wednesday

There is an awesome show for a killer deal coming up this Wed. at Hangar 9. The Dead Ghosts will be in town from Vancouver, Canada (that's like 2,352 miles away..), they have a killer LP out on Florida's Dying Records, and they been busy playing shows with awesome bands like Nobunny, Thee Oh Sees, Shannon & The Clams, Dutchess & The Duke, Smith Westerns, Time Copz, TacocaT, etc.. Should be a good time. If that wasn't enough, Catholics & The Pill are playing, and they should be tighter than ever, having just recorded 3-songs for a 7" straight to tape at the skihouse (we'll get them up here soon). IF you're crazy and that wasn't enough, Josh Murphy (of Black 40s) will debut his solo project, Wild Murphy, and he is supposedly almost finished with a full-length solo album. Black Fortys are currently on tour, at SXSW right now, and they are touring with a band from Brooklyn called The Yes Way, AND they will be playing too!

Nashy Party

Last weekend 1/4 of us took the trip to Nashville to see come killer showz put on by our pals at Nashville's Dead.. here are some vids of Useless Eaters and Davila 666 playing at Third Man Records, got some other vids of Ty Segall coming asap.

Mondo Cave

There is a KILLER show happening this Thursday at Hangar (ignore that that pretty flier says the 11th.. it's the 10th).. Mondo Drag, CAVE, and Drunk Virago will be tearing that place a new one, with a night full of heavy, kraut-y, psychedelic rock n roll jams. Drunk Virago has a new line-up and a new set of songs, and what we've heard is pretty tight. Mondo Drag will be back in town (they played at skihaustoberfest last fall) while they're on their way to SXSW. They have a new EP that was released yesterday, and you'll be able to get one at the show. CAVE is making the short trip from Chicago to Carbondale for the first time, and we could not be more psyched about it. They kill it live, and they have an awesome EP that came out last spring via Drag City, and they're about to drop a full-length on Drag City this fall. This show is definitely worth the meager $4, come get psyched with us!

New Young Loves

Young Loves now have a new member, Carly Lappin, and they'll be coming back to Carby soon, playing at the Hangar on Saturday April 30th. Can't wait.. and also, there is a new member of the Young Loves family, Arlin just had a beautiful baby girl, congratulations Arlin & Nancy!

Such a killer show at Hangar 9 tonight: Jacuzzi Boys in town from Miami, FL, PARLOR back in action (with some new jams possibly?! plus B Haley is becoming a long-hair..), and Catholics & The Pill's first bigtime show.
