While we're on the topic of new releases.. Diarrhea Planet's debut LP Loose Jewels came out today via Infinity Cat Recordings. The Nashville boys and their 4 guitars will be in town over the weekend, they and their sister band Big Surr are both recording for new releases at the Skihouse, and they will both be playing a show at Tres Hombres with Wild Murphy & The New Year on Saturday. Come out and grab the new LP, DP never disappoints!
Man I try not to talk about it because I feel like we've gushed enough.. but Ty Segall just keeps on killing it!! If you haven't got to hear his new LP, Goodbye Bread, which came out on Drag City a few months back, it is definitely one of the best jams of the summer. We've been trying to get him back to Carby for a while, but it keeps falling through. If you're like us though, you can't wait and maybe you should go see him play one of the two amazing shows he is playing close by this week! He is playing at Exit/In in Nashville tomorrow for only $6, with Heavy Cream and D. Watusi (who both rule), and then he is playing at Goner Fest 8 in Memphis on Thursday!
Our Nashville pal Daniel Pujol recently inked a deal with Saddle Creek Records to release his new EP, which will be coming out on October 4th. One of the tracks was featured on NPR's All Songs Considered today, and it sounds pretty damn good! OH YEAH, he is playing at Hangar 9 next Thursday with Turbo Fruits and The Shakes, I'll bet he will even have the new EP! Can't wait.
YEAH THAT'S RIGHT. NOBUNNY is playing at Skihouse tomorrow night, and damn will it be the jam. If you aren't familiar with Nobunny, a quick google image search will give you a pretty decent idea, but he also has a string of jams out on gems like Goner Records, Burger Records, 1234GO!, Third Man, etc. Coming all the way from Oakland, CA, he is in the midwest to play Goner Fest 8 next weekend, and for a few tour dates with San Francisco's GIRLS. So stoked he is coming to Carby.. Thank you NOBUNNY!

Tomorrow our buddy Daniel Francis Doyle will be coming to town, all the way from Austin, Texas. He played the Skihaus last fall with Flight from Mississippi and Himalayas, and he blew a lot of minds with his intense, no-nonsense 1-man show, which is probably the finest example of 1-man-band-itry we have ever seen. He has just started performing with two additional members, so this show will be one of the first chances anyone outside of Austin has had to experience the new lineup. Dan Senteighty and Dolphin Logic (a new synth duo comprised of Drunk Virago's Howard Steeley and James McKain) will finish out the night.
